• Each wood plastic construction project will be issued a certificate by Kosmos. If not, Kosmos will refuse to provide warranty.

Warranty policy for Wood-plastic Composite

The outdoor wood plastic warranty policy includes warranty conditions and non-warranty cases.

✅Conditions for wood plastic products to be warranted

Kosmos Vietnam will provide warranty when the Customer meets the following conditions:

1. Customers install and use for the right purpose, according to the supplier's standards and construction instructions.
2. Wood plastic warps, shrinks, deforms, and cracks under normal use conditions.
3. Damage to the product must be visible to the naked eye.
4. The purchase receipt or warranty certificate must remain intact (not torn, patched, altered, or repaired).
5. The product is still within the warranty period.
6. Wood plastic is an exterior product - installed outdoors.

❌In case wood plastic products are not warranted

Kosmos Vietnam refuses to provide warranty when the Customer falls into one of the following cases:

1. Customers do not install and use wood plastic for the right purpose, according to the supplier's standards and construction instructions.
2. Wood plastic is damaged due to incorrect construction or improper use, for example:
   • Wood plastic shrinks and warps due to waterlogging.
   • Wood plastic warps due to not leaving expansion space, causing wall irritation.
3. Damage to wood plastic products is not visible to the naked eye.
4. The purchase receipt or warranty card for the wood plastic product is no longer intact (crumpled, patched, erased or repaired).
5. Wood plastic products exceed the warranty period.
6. Wear and tear of wood plastic products during use.
7. Wood plastic products are damaged due to force majeure (natural disasters, fires, etc.).
8. Wood plastic products are damaged due to customers arbitrarily disassembling or moving the product.
9. Accessories and frame are rusted due to oxidation.
10. Wood plastic is damaged due to direct installation under glass or corrugated iron or poly roofs. This will cause the product to absorb more heat. If construction requires insulation under the roof, keep a distance of at least 300mm from the roof.
11. Customers do not maintain/care for wood plastic properly.

Recommendations for construction/installation of outdoor wood plastic

It is recommended that outdoor wood plastic construction/installation be divided into 3 stages: before - during - after construction.

A. Before constructing wood plastic

1.   It is necessary to ensure drainage for plastic wood to avoid flooding.
2.   Anti-rust paint is needed at the connection point of the galvanized iron and stainless steel frame.

B. During wood plastic construction

👉Recommendations for construction/installation of wood plastic flooring 

1. Required installation of wood plastic flooring on the frame:
   • Distance between bars ≤350mm (1-layer wood plastic floor).
   • Distance between bars 200-350mm (2-layer polymer-coated wood plastic floor).
   • The wood plastic floor skeleton is:
     • Wood plastic beam thickness ≥25mm for solid beam or ≥30mm for hollow beam.
     • Galvanized/stainless steel bars size ≥30 x 30mm, thickness ≥1.4mm.
   • The joint point of the wood plastic floor must be placed on the crossbar. The distance between 2 double crossbars is 5 – 20mm.
2. Leave a gap when installing the wood plastic floor, ensuring ventilation and expansion space. The distance between the floor bar and the wall ≥15mm.

👉Recommendations for construction/installation of wood plastic panels

1. Mandatory installation of wood plastic panels on the frame:
   • Distance between bars ≤250mm.
   • The frame of the wood plastic panel is galvanized iron/stainless steel with dimensions ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm.
   • Wood plastic beams are only used as wall frames, not for ceilings (≥25mm solid beams, ≥30mm hollow beams).
   • The joint point of the wood plastic panel must be placed on the skeleton. The distance between the 2 double ribs and the 2 panels right there is 5mm.
   • Each bar must be reinforced with stainless steel screws (need to drill holes before screwing), distance between each screw ≤25cm.
2. In case of constructing wood plastic ceiling at the construction site with poly sheet, glass, corrugated iron roof:

1. Galvanized/stainless steel bars must be threaded into the core of the slat/pillar according to the correct size of the product.
2. Do not screw the slats/pillars to the galvanized iron/stainless steel bar (for 1-layer wood-plastic slats).

C. After wood plastic construction

1. Use only diluted detergents to clean the product.
   • For fresh stains, use a mild detergent (pH 5 – 8).
   • For stubborn, old stains, you can use products such as alcohol, kerosene, white wine or bleach diluted to five percent (5%).
2. Do not use sharp objects to clean stains on plastic wood.
3. Proper maintenance increases product life.
4. Periodically every 3-6 months, check and reinforce to ensure safety for users of ceilings and walls.
