Kosmos Vietnam laminate flooring warranty period

Currently, Kosmos warehouse is supplying and distributing 4 brands of laminate flooring to the Vietnamese market, including: Egger (Virtue), Robina (Malaysia), Kosmos (VN).

Steps to handle water-damaged laminate flooring

B1 Call the contractor immediately to quickly remove the laminate flooring from the waterlogged area.

B2 Use a dry towel to wipe each laminate flooring slat and then spread them in a cool, windy place to dry for 5 days.

B3 After drying for 5 days, the laminate flooring should recover and can be reinstalled normally. If any plank is damaged beyond repair during the removal and installation process, we will replace that plank.

Note:
The cost of removing and installing a flooded wooden floor is: 50.000 - 60.000 VND/m².
In case you are dealing with a flooded floor and require floor dismantling in another area, you need to negotiate the cost with the Agent (construction unit), however does not exceed 60.000 VND/m².
When the wooden floor is slightly flooded, just use a fan to dry it for 5 days, the floor surface will restore itself to its original state.

In case the wooden floor warranty policy applies

1. Customers must install and use the product for the correct purpose, according to the standards and construction instructions of the supplier.

2. Wooden floors warp, shrink, and fade under normal use conditions.

3. Product damage must be visible to the naked eye.

4. The purchase receipt or warranty card is not intact (not crumpled, patched, erased or altered).

5. The product is still within the warranty period.

6. Wooden floors are furniture – flooring applications.

In case the laminate floor is not covered under warranty

1. Customers do not install and use the product for the correct purpose, according to the standards and construction instructions of the supplier.

2. Wood floors are damaged due to incorrect construction or improper use, for example:

– Shrinkage and warping due to being submerged in water for more than 72 hours.

– Warping due to not leaving expansion space, causing wall irritation.

– Color fades when exposed to direct sunlight (UV rays) for too long.

3. Product damage is not visible to the naked eye.

4. The purchase receipt or warranty card is no longer intact (crumpled, patched, erased or altered).

5. The product is beyond the warranty period.

6. Laminate flooring is interior – not for outdoor installation.

7. Wear and tear of the product during use.

8. Products damaged due to force majeure (natural disasters, fires, etc.).

9. Damage to the product caused by customer's own disassembly, relocation, or handling.

10. Customer does not maintain/maintain properly.

Recommendations for construction/installation of laminate flooring

A. Before construction

In order for the wooden floor to adapt to the project, we must open the box at the construction site 48 hours before installation.
The ground surface is flat, the difference is not more than 2mm/1.000mm (1m).

B. During construction

1. Leave space between floor and wall:

– Distance 15 – 18mm (applicable to Kosmos gold core, Egger Classic, NatureSense, Robina Classic).

– The distance between the floor and the wall is 12 – 15mm (Kosmos green core, Egger Aqua, Robina Aqua, NatureSense Aqua, NatureSense Aqua+).

2. Foam floor panels should not be stacked on top of each other.

3. Install the wooden floor bars in the correct position and direction.

4. The first row of flooring must be straight and level. Install the two rows staggered with a minimum offset of 200mm.

5. The locking groove must be tightly fitted to avoid groove running.

6. Do not use an iron hammer to directly hit the groove and make sure the gasket does not damage the groove.

7. Do not use glue because the product is elastic.

8. Use disconnect/connect strips to divide areas with length and width >7.000mm (7m).

C. After construction

1. Do not drag heavy, sharp, pointed objects across the floor.

2. Do not use sharp objects to clean the floor.

3. Use a mild cleaning solution, diluted with water, with a neutral pH (pH 6 – 8) to clean the wooden floor.

4. Use a damp, wrung-out cloth to clean the floor, do not pour water directly.

5. Do not let rain water splash/flood into the house.

6. Suitable temperature for the floor is not more than 50°C, should not be placed near high heat sources (eg: coal stove, gas stove, ...).

7. Proper maintenance to increase product life.
