What is ASA wood plastic?

ASA plastic wood (2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic) is an exterior decoration product, made from a WPC wood plastic core (60% PVC plastic, 20% wood powder, 10% additives) and covered with a layer of ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) accounting for 10% of the composition.

Panels have 0,3mm thick ASA coating.
The slats have a 0,5mm thick ASA coating.

ASA is a high-tech thermoplastic with excellent weather resistance, commonly used in the automotive industry and the production of high-end roof tiles. The simultaneous extrusion technology ensures that the ASA coating and the wood plastic core are tightly bonded and inseparable.

The structure is mainly PVC plastic, so ASA plastic wood is lighter than plastic wood products made from HDPE plastic. Therefore, the product is suitable for Exterior ceiling, wall, gate cladding with large area help reduce the load on the structure.

Instructions for constructing 2-layer ASA Kosmos coated wood plastic

Installation of ASA-coated 2-layer wood plastic outdoors must follow the supplier's recommendations, for example:

ASA wood plastic panels with short groove edges (except OP140X12) need to be installed through brackets and stainless steel screws. In particular, wood plastic panels code OP140X12 are installed by shooting stainless steel screws into the hidden groove.
The panel needs to be installed onto the frame.

Note: Do not install wood plastic panels directly under heat-absorbing materials such as glass, poly panels, corrugated iron, etc. If installation is required, leave a gap of ≥300mm with the panels and add an additional layer of insulation in between.

Warranty Activation

The installation unit must provide the project address along with images/videos confirming correct installation procedures. Additionally, the customer’s information (name, phone number, email) must be submitted so that Kosmos can complete the warranty registration on behalf of the customer.

Warranty Response Within 24 Hours

Once the information is received, Kosmos will issue and activate the warranty certificate. The certificate will be sent to the installation unit or directly to the customer via email.
