Instructions for installing ceiling panels under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs using 2-layer ASA-coated fluted wood-plastic panels

ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic wave panels (4S184X28, 5S169X14, 8S169X14) When constructing ceiling cladding under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs, there are two main cases including:

  1. Vertical ceiling panel, horizontal bar installation
  2. Horizontal ceiling panel, vertical frame installation.

ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic wave panels weigh 3,3kg/bar - 4,2kg/bar. When installing ceiling panels under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs, they need to be installed on a frame system. 3 requirements for the skeleton to construct fluted ASA wood plastic panel:

  1. Distance between bars ≤35cm.
  2. The distance between the frame system and the glass and corrugated iron roof system is from 30 - 50cm.
  3. Made from stainless steel or galvanized steel bars with size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm.

Tool

8 tools needed to prepare for construction of ASA 2-layer fluted wood plastic panel for ceiling under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs include:

  1. Angle cutter, drill, welding machine, laser machine
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Folding ladder
  4. Nail gun.

Step 2: Construct additional frame system to install under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs.

Construct a new skeleton layer (stainless steel or galvanized steel bars of size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm). At the connection point of 2 panels, 2 double ribs are needed with a distance of 5mm. Using a welding machine, weld the ribs together, the welds need to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

For vertical ceiling tiles distance between bars ≤35cm horizontally.

For horizontal ceiling panels, the distance between the ribs is ≤35cm vertically.

Step 3: Install insulation

After having a new skeleton system, the construction unit will install a layer of insulation material (silver foam 5mm thick or more, heat-insulating corrugated iron or plastic foam) on top of this skeleton and fix it with glue or stainless steel screws.

Step 4: Weld the frame and insulation material onto the glass, corrugated iron, and poly roof.

Weld the new frame and insulation material to the roof frame of corrugated iron, glass, and poly. The welds need to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint. The distance between the wooden plastic ceiling frame and the glass, corrugated iron, or poly roof is required to be 300 – 500mm and the frame should have a slight outward slope of 2 – 3%.

ASA-coated 2-layer wood-plastic wave panels have an expansion rate of 0,1%, so the distance between the frame and the wall (if any) is 7 - 10mm, this is a safe distance for the frame and fluted ASA-coated wood-plastic panels to expand.

Step 5: Install ASA coated 2-layer fluted wood plastic panel onto the frame

7 steps to install fluted panel ASA 4S184X28, 5S169X14, 8S169X14 on the skeleton.

5.1. Apply Kosmos multi-purpose glue into the rib before installing the ASA wood plastic fluted panel.

5.2. Install the first ASA fluted panel groove Close to the wall, the groove facing outwards, the fluted panel and the frame need to leave a gap of 7 - 10mm with the wall (For vertical cladding, install the fluted panel from left to right or from right to left depending on the installer. For horizontal cladding, install the fluted panel from inside to outside).

Step 6: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.

Cover exposed fluted panel edges with ASA wood plastic V-brackets (V35X45). Please note that at right angles, the V-shaped strip needs to be cut at a 45° angle.

There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.

To ensure the wood plastic ceiling is durable and beautiful, rainwater does not accumulate inside and cause mold, you need to install a "water pipe" to ensure the durability of the ceiling.

A water line is a line that is usually raised with mortar on balconies and loggias. A water cut-off strip/water hook can be used instead. This detail prevents rainwater from flowing back into the ceiling.
