What is the function of the GNC80-D black aluminum baseboard corner bracket?
The GNC80-D external corner pin is an accessory for handling convex corners. Black aluminum baseboard trim CT80-DAt locations where the wall protrudes at a 90° angle – for example, square columns, partition wall ends, wall corners – the ends of the two skirting strips meet on the outer edge of the wall. GNC80-D creates a protective border around the protruding corner, protecting the aluminum skirting from impact (as the outer corner is the point of greatest stress) and creating a consistent black aesthetic throughout.

What problem does the GNC80-D external corner lock solve at convex corners?
The protruding corner is the most vulnerable spot in a living space – people accidentally bumping into it, shopping carts colliding with it, children running into it. The GNC80-D exterior corner latch addresses four issues here:
- Preventing dents and distortions in aluminum baseboard trim: The protruding corners are exposed and easily subjected to direct impact forces. The GNC80-D has rounded corners, dispersing the impact force instead of concentrating it on the sharp edges.
- Protecting the aluminum core: The 1mm edge of the skirting board at the convex corner will bend or warp upon impact if not secured by a pin – The GNC80-D pin helps reinforce the edge of the skirting board.
- Create smooth curves: Instead of the two ends of the splint facing each other at a sharp angle, the pin creates a gentle curve – aesthetically pleasing and safe to touch.
- Matching black tones: With a uniform black finish, the black wool band provides an uninterrupted visual effect at the convex corner.

How to install the GNC80-D external corner bolt?
The installation process for the GNC80-D external corner bolt includes 3 steps:
- Attach the base lock to the outer corner of the wall.
- Position the GNC80-D bolt in the outer corner.
- Attach the aluminum baseboard to the base lock, aligning the end of the trim with the outer corner pin.

The GNC80-D black exterior corner bracket serves a dual purpose: protecting the aluminum baseboard at its most vulnerable point (the protruding corner) and maintaining the black color across the entire baseboard. This accessory transforms sharp, easily damaged corners into a sturdy, safe, and smooth curved edge. It's especially important for high-traffic areas: hallways, lobbies, offices, and showrooms – where corners are constantly subjected to impact.
