Instructions for installing 2-layer flat polymer-coated wood-plastic ceiling panels OP156
OP2 flat polymer-coated 156-layer wood-plastic panel (OP2 flat 156-layer wood-plastic panel) has a surface that is less prone to dirt and is easy to clean. Simple maintenance, every 3-6 months check the construction for loose glue or screws. If so, contact the construction unit for repairs.
Advanced Polymer coating technology also helps protect the color of the panel, limiting fading during use, keeping the space durable and beautiful. When installing 2-layer OP156 wood-plastic ceiling panels, there are 2 main cases including:
- Horizontal ceiling panel, vertical bar installation
- Vertical ceiling panel, horizontal bar installation
OP2 156-layer wood plastic panel weighs 5,7kg/bar and needs to be reinforced on a sturdy frame system with a distance between the bars ≤25cm to ensure user safety.
In addition, the construction area must be ensured. length (depth) ≤3mIf the area is larger, please switch to using 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic panels. (OP113X16, OP140X12, 4S184X26, 5S169X14, 8S169X14). ASA panels are lightweight materials used for wall, ceiling and partition cladding with large areas..
Below is the size and weight table of 2 codes of 2-layer polymer-coated wood-plastic panels OP156 at Kosmos Vietnam:
| Product code | Color | Dimensions (mm) | Weight |
| OP156D | Burlywood (Light Yellow), Teak (Orange Yellow) Walnut (Brown) | 156x21x3000mm | 5.7kg/bar (±5%) |
| OP156X | Teak (Orange Yellow) Walnut (Brown) |

Step 1: Prepare materials and tools for construction of 2-layer wood-plastic ceiling panels coated with Polymer OP156
Supplies
Below are 8 types of materials you need to prepare when constructing OP156 wood plastic ceiling panels:
- Skeleton bar (stainless steel or galvanized steel bar) size ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm
- 2-layer flat wood plastic panel coated with Polymer (OP156)
- Wood plastic V-shaped strip (V50X50)
- Specialized stainless steel pin
- Iron anchor
- Stainless steel screws
- Copper nail
- Kosmos exterior glue.

Tool
Here are 8 necessary tools for the construction process of 2-layer wood plastic ceiling panel OP156:
- Angle cutter, drill, welding machine, laser machine
- Tape measure, angle ruler
- Folding ladder
- Nail gun.

Step 2: Create a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors
The process of creating a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors includes 3 steps:
- Using a drill, drill into the ceiling.
- Insert iron plugs into drilled holes
- Tighten the anchor bolts until the connections are secure and strong.
| Horizontal ceiling tiles When using a drill, drilling into the ceiling requires Distance between drill holes ≤50cm horizontally and ≤25cm vertically. | Vertical ceiling panels When using a drill, drilling into the ceiling requires Distance between drill holes ≤50cm vertically and ≤25cm horizontally. |
4 common types of iron anchors: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, corresponding to 4 types of drill bits: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.
Step 3: Build the skeleton
| Horizontal ceiling tiles Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to vertical into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤250mm (≤25cm) vertically. | Vertical ceiling panels Use welding machine to fix the bone bar according to Horizontal into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤250mm (≤25cm) horizontally. |
** Kosmos recommends:
- Frame material: Stainless steel bar or galvanized steel bar with size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm.
- The frame needs to leave a gap of 7 - 10mm from the wall to install the wood-plastic V-shaped strip. This is also a safe distance for the frame and OP156 panel to expand.
- At the position where the 2 panels are joined, a double rib must be installed. The distance between the 2 double ribs is 5mm.
- The weld should be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.
Step 4: Install the first panel
The first 2-layer OP156 Polymer coated panel is constructed by the following 4 steps:
1. The first OP156 needs to be reinforced with a stainless steel pin fixed on the frame to increase the strength of the panel. An OP1 sample can be used to determine the position of the first stainless steel pin. The panel and frame need to leave a gap of 156 - 7mm with the wall.
2. Install the stainless steel pin for the first panel onto the ribs: Pilot drill into the stainless steel pin and screw the stainless steel into the pilot hole to fix the pin to the crossbar. Make sure the pins are aligned.
3. Install the first wood-plastic panel's male groove onto the stainless steel pin fixed to the frame in the previous step.
4. Drill and screw stainless steel fish tail into the groove to fix the panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤250mm).
Step 5: Install the remaining OP156 panels to the ceiling
3 steps to install OP2 156-layer wood plastic panel on the frame
1. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel. Then drill a pilot hole and screw in stainless steel screws. fish tail into the groove of the second panel to fix the panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frames). ≤250mm).
2. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the last panel.
3. Install the final panel
Attach the wooden blocks of suitable size to the ribs and cut the OP156 panel to the width of the area to be installed. Then fix the panel to the wooden blocks with stainless steel screws through the panel, wooden blocks and ribs.

Kosmos recommends
- Pilot drills are required before screwing into the recessed groove of the panel.
- At the joint position, the panels need to be placed on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5mm and the distance between 2 ends of the OP2 156-layer wood-plastic panel is 5mm.
Step 6: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.
Cover the exposed edges of the wall panel with 2-skin wood-plastic V-shaped strips (V50X50). Please note that at the right angle, the V-shaped strip needs to be cut at a 45° angle.
There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.
Option 1: Use glue and umbrella head stainless steel screws fish tail, screw holes ≤300mm (≤30cm).
Horizontal ceiling tiles
Vertical ceiling panels
Option 2: Use glue and nail gun with copper nails, nail holes ≤100mm (≤10cm).
Horizontal ceiling tiles
Vertical ceiling panels
Kosmos recommends ceiling size for OP2 156-layer wood plastic panel construction:
Ceiling size when constructing 2-layer wood plastic panels OP156 requires a length (depth) of ≤3m. If your area is larger than the recommended size, please switch to using 2-layer wood plastic panels coated with ASA (OP113X16, OP140X12, 4S184X26, 5S169X14, 8S169X14). ASA panels are lightweight materials, specialized solutions for large-area wall and ceiling cladding.
*Kosmos recommends
To ensure the wood plastic ceiling is durable and beautiful, rainwater does not accumulate inside and cause mold, you need to install a "water pipe" to ensure the durability of the ceiling.
Waterline is a line usually raised with mortar on balconies and loggias. Can be used water cut off splint/replaceable water hook. This detail prevents rainwater from flowing back into the ceiling.

In addition to horizontal and vertical ceiling panels, OP2 156-layer wood plastic panels can also be used for Construction of OP156 wall panels, facade panels.
Note: Instructions are for reference only. To have the most suitable construction plan, it is necessary to survey the specific project and come up with an optimal construction solution.
