Instructions for installing ASA-coated 2-layer fluted wood-plastic ceiling panels

ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic wave panels (4S184X28, 5S169X14, 8S169X14) When constructing ceiling panels, there are 2 main cases including:

  • Vertical ceiling panel, horizontal bar installation
  • Horizontal ceiling panel, vertical frame installation.

ASA-coated 2-layer wood-plastic wave panels weigh 3,3kg/bar - 4,2kg/bar. When installing ceiling panels, they need to be installed on a frame system and the distance between the bars is ≤35cm. The ASA wood-plastic fluted panel ceiling frame system is made from stainless steel or galvanized steel bars with dimensions ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm.

Step 1: Prepare materials and tools for ceiling cladding with ASA wood plastic fluted panel

Supplies

You need to prepare the following 8 materials to install a ceiling panel with 2-layer ASA-coated fluted wood plastic panels:

  1. Skeleton bars (stainless steel, galvanized steel) size ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm
  2. ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic wave panels (4S184X28, 5S169X14, 8S169X14)
  3. ASA wood plastic V-shaped strip (V35X45)
  4. Iron anchor
  5. Stainless steel screw with pee tail
  6. Ke
  7. Copper nail
  8. Kosmos exterior glue.

Tool

7 tools needed to prepare for the construction of ASA 2-layer fluted wood plastic ceiling panels include:

  1. Angle grinder, drill, welder
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Laser machine, nail gun.

Step 2: Create a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors

The process of creating a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors includes 3 steps:

  1. Using a drill, drill into the ceiling.
  2. Insert iron plugs into drilled holes
  3. Tighten the anchor bolts until the connections are secure and strong.
Vertical ceiling panels

Using a drill, drill into the required ceiling. Distance between drill holes ≤35cm horizontally and ≤50cm vertically.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm horizontally.

Horizontal ceiling tiles

Using a drill, drill into the required ceiling. Distance between drill holes ≤35cm vertically and ≤50cm horizontally.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm vertically.

4 common types of iron anchors: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, corresponding to 4 types of drill bits: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Step 3: Build the skeleton

Vertical ceiling panels

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to Horizontal into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤350mm (≤35cm) horizontally. (The weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint)

Horizontal ceiling tiles

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to vertical into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤350mm (≤35cm) vertically. (The weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint)

** Kosmos recommends:

  1. Frame material: Stainless steel bar or galvanized steel bar with size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm.
  2. The frame needs to leave a gap of 7-10mm from the wall to install the ASA wood-plastic V-brace. This is also a safe distance for the frame and the 2-layer ASA-coated fluted wood-plastic panel to expand.
  3. At the position where 2 fluted panels are joined, a double rib must be installed. The distance between the 2 double ribs is 5mm.
  4. The skeleton has a slight outward tilt of 2 – 3%.

Step 4: Install ASA coated 2-layer fluted wood plastic panel onto the frame

ASA wood plastic corrugated panels at Kosmos Vietnam have 3 codes: 4S184X28, 5S169X14, 8S169X14 requirements when constructing ke.

5 steps to install fluted ASA wood plastic panel Vertical ceiling panels on the skeleton:

  1. Apply Kosmos exterior adhesive to the crossbar before installing the panel.
  2. Install the first ASA fluted panel close to the wall, the negative groove facing outward (install the panel from left to right or from right to left depending on the installer).
  3. Attach the specialized bracket to the recessed groove, fix the bracket to the crossbar with stainless steel screws (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the crossbars). ≤35cm)
  4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel. Attach the bracket to the negative groove of the second panel and fix it with stainless steel screws right at the bracket.
  5. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the ceiling is full.

5 steps to install ASA coated 2-layer fluted wood plastic panel horizontal ceiling on the skeleton:

  1. Apply Kosmos exterior glue to the crossbar before installing the panel.
  2. Install the first fluted wood panel against the wall, with the groove facing outwards (Kosmos recommends installing the panel from the inside out).
  3. Attach the specialized bracket to the recessed groove, then fix it to the frame with stainless steel screws (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤35cm)
  4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel. Attach the bracket to the negative groove of the second panel and fix it with stainless steel screws right at the bracket.

  1. Need to drill pilot holes before screwing into the groove of the wood plastic panel.
  2. At the position where the panels need to be joined, the joint must be placed on the rib. If the rib is not large enough to fix both ends at the same time, it is necessary to install 2 ribs close together, each rib fixing one end.

Step 5: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.

Cover the exposed edges of the fluted panel ASA ends with ASA wood plastic V-brackets (V35X45). Please note that at the right angle, the V-shaped strip needs to be cut at a 45° angle.

There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.

Option 1: Use glue and fishtail screws, screw holes ≤350mm (≤35cm).

To ensure the wood plastic ceiling is durable and beautiful, rainwater does not accumulate inside and cause mold, you need to install a "water pipe" to ensure the durability of the ceiling.

A water line is a line that is usually raised with mortar on balconies and loggias. A water cut-off strip/water hook can be used instead. This detail prevents rainwater from flowing back into the ceiling.
