Instructions for installing 2-layer flat polymer-coated wood-plastic wall cladding OP156

OP2 flat 156-layer polymer-coated wood-plastic panel (OP2 flat 156-layer wood-plastic panel) has a surface that is less prone to dirt, easy to clean and maintain. Advanced polymer coating technology also helps protect the color of the panel, limiting fading during use.

Construction of 2-layer wood plastic wall panels OP156 has 2 main cases including:

  • Horizontal wall cladding, vertical bar installation
  • Vertical wall cladding, horizontal bar installation.

OP2 156-layer wood plastic panel weighs 5.7kg/bar and needs to be reinforced on a sturdy frame system with a distance between bars ≤25cm to ensure safety for users.

In addition, the construction area must meet Width ≤6m and height ≤3mIf the area is larger, please switch to using ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic panel (OP113X16, OP140X12, 4S184X26, 5S169X14, 8S169X14). ASA panel is a lightweight material used for wall, ceiling, and partition cladding with large areas.

Step 2: Create a joint between the wall and the frame using iron anchors

The process of creating a joint between the wall and the frame using iron anchors includes 3 steps:

  1. Using a drill, drill into the wall of the house.
  2. Insert iron plugs into drilled holes
  3. Tighten the anchor bolts until the connections are secure and strong.

Horizontal wall cladding

When using a drill, drilling into the wall requires a distance between the holes. ≤25cm vertically and ≤50cm horizontally.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm vertically and ≤50cm horizontally.

Vertical wall cladding

When using a drill, drilling into the wall requires a distance between the holes. ≤25cm horizontally and ≤50cm vertically.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm horizontally and ≤50cm vertically.

4 common types of iron anchors: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, corresponding to 4 types of drill bits: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Step 3: Build the skeleton

Horizontal wall cladding

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to vertical into the iron plugs already on the wall. The distance between the bars ≤250mm (≤25cm) vertically, the weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

Vertical wall cladding

Use welding machine to fix the bone bar according to Horizontal into the iron plugs already on the wall. The distance between the bars ≤250mm (≤25cm) horizontally, the weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

** Kosmos recommends:

  1. Frame material: Stainless steel bar or galvanized steel bar with size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm.
  2. The frame needs to leave a gap of 7 - 10mm from the wall to install the wood-plastic V-shaped strip. This is also a safe distance for the frame and OP156 panel to expand.
  3. At the position where the 2 panels are joined, a double rib must be installed. The distance between the 2 double ribs is 5mm.

Step 4: Install the first panel

The first 2-layer Polymer coated panel is constructed by the following 4 steps:

1. The first OP156 needs to be reinforced with stainless steel screws fixed on the crossbar to increase the strength of the panel. An OP1 sample can be used to determine the position of the first stainless steel pin. The distance between the ground and the first panel is about 156mm.

Kosmos recommends:

  • OP156 when mounted horizontally should be constructed from bottom to top, the positive groove facing down, the negative groove facing up
Use a panel template to determine screw locations for the first panel when installing horizontally.

  • OP156 when mounted vertically Can be constructed from left to right or from right to left, depending on the worker.
Use a test piece to determine the location of the stainless steel pin for the first panel when installing vertically.

2. Install the stainless steel pins for the first panel onto the ribs with stainless steel screws. Make sure the pins are aligned.

3. Install the first wood-plastic panel's male groove onto the stainless steel pin fixed to the top frame in the previous step.

4. Drill and screw stainless steel fish tail into the groove to fix the panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤250mm).

Step 5: Install the remaining OP156 panels to the end of the wall

4 steps to install wood plastic panel OP156 horizontal on the skeleton:

1. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel. Then drill a pilot hole and screw in stainless steel screws. fish tail into the negative groove to fix the second panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤250mm).

2. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the last panel.

3. Install the final panel:

Attach wooden blocks of suitable size to the ribs and cut the OP156 panel to the width of the area to be installed, then fix the panel to the wooden blocks with stainless steel screws through the panel, wooden blocks and ribs.

Kosmos recommends

At the joint position, the panels need to be placed on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5mm and the distance between 2 ends of the OP2 156-layer wood-plastic panel is 5mm.

When the 2 ends of the OP156 panel are connected together, they need to be placed on a double rib and the distance between the 2 ends of the 2 panels is 5mm.

3 steps to install wood plastic panel OP156 vertical mounting on the skeleton:

1. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel. At the joint position, the panels need to be placed on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5mm and the distance between 2 ends of the OP2 156-layer wood-plastic panel is 5mm.

** Kosmos recommends

  1. Need to drill pilot holes before screwing into the groove of the wood plastic panel
  2. At the position where the panels need to be joined, the joint must be placed on the rib. If the rib is not large enough to fix both ends at the same time, it is necessary to install 2 ribs, each rib is 2mm apart, and the 5 panels connected together are also 2mm apart.

Step 6: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.

Cover the exposed edges of the wall panel with 2-layer wood-plastic V-shaped strips (V50X50). Please note that at right angles, the V-shaped strips need to be cut at a 45-degree angle.

There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.

Option 1: Use glue and umbrella head stainless steel screws fish tail, screw holes ≤300mm (≤30cm).

Option 2: Use glue and nail gun with copper nails, nail holes ≤100mm (≤10cm).

Kosmos recommends the wall size for constructing 2-layer wood plastic panels OP156:

The wall size when constructing 2-layer wood plastic panel OP156 requires a width of ≤6m and a height of ≤3m. If your area is larger than the recommended size, please switch to using 2-layer wood plastic panel ASA coated (OP113X16, OP140X12). ASA panel is a lightweight material, specializing in solutions for large-area wall and ceiling cladding.

In addition to horizontal and vertical wall mounting, customers can also install OP2 panels on ceilings for balconies and porches.
