Instructions for constructing bamboo charcoal panels for wall cladding
The process of constructing bamboo charcoal wall panels includes 6 steps
Step 1: Prepare materials and tools for the construction of Bamboo Charcoal Panels
We need to prepare a quantity of materials along with construction tools and machinery:
- Supplies: Bamboo charcoal panels and decorative braces (if any), multi-purpose glue (non-acid glue).
- Machines: Router, cutter, drill, screwdriver,...
- Tool: Black tape, hammer, ruler, pen, folding ladder,...
Step 2: Treatment of construction surface
The construction surface of bamboo charcoal panels must be flat, with a difference of no more than 2mm/1m.
Check the flatness of the wall to see if it meets the standard? Cleanliness means the wall is standard enough to cover directly with bamboo charcoal panels.
2.1. It is necessary to remove all poor quality wall layers and treat the surface to a flat surface.
2.2. Install a frame system directly on the wall, the distance between the frames is not greater than 1cm.
2.3. Build a plastic foam board or cement board onto the skeleton.
Note: If the wall is not too damp, the plastic foam board/cement board can be placed directly on the wall to ensure stability, NO need for a skeleton frame.
Step 3: Measure and cut the bamboo charcoal sheet to the appropriate size
Use a specialized cutting machine to cut the material according to the marked size. The back of the bamboo charcoal panel only needs to use a groove milling machine (engraver) to be able to bend and fold right angles as desired (just need to do it on the core part, not to damage the decorative film layer, we can use any type of groove milling machine or engraver).
Mill into multiple grooves, depending on the desired curvature.
Mill a single groove at the position where you want to fold the right angle.
Note: With fabric-textured bamboo charcoal panels, we can use a paper knife to cut the material. The remaining panel lines require specialized cutting machines.
Step 4: Install bamboo charcoal panels
Below are the steps for both flat bamboo charcoal panels and fluted bamboo charcoal panels.
- Apply black tape to the back of the bamboo charcoal panel.
- Apply specialized glue to the back of the panel and spread evenly.
- Paste the bamboo charcoal panel directly onto the surface that was finished in step 2.
Note: Avoid squeezing the glue too much, forming large glue clusters will affect the flatness of the front panel. The glue used for bamboo charcoal panels must be neutral glue, do not use acid glue.
Step 5: Apply decorative braces
Below are the steps to construct the brace:
- Measure and cut the brace to the appropriate size for the location to be installed.
- Use glue or screws to install the brace.
- Continue installation until complete.
Note:
- After finishing covering a bamboo charcoal panel, we will attach a decorative brace to it before continuing to cover the next panel. Just like that, we will repeat the process of "laying panels - attaching braces" until the entire project is completed.
- With V-braces and U-led braces, we will install them after completing the project.
The use of splints during the construction of bamboo charcoal panels does not necessarily depend on the design and aesthetic needs of each person.
Note: The Pandora panel line does not need to use braces because panels A, B, C, D have continuous ridges. Therefore, when constructing Pandora bamboo charcoal panels, high technology is required, installing the material panels tightly together to ensure the aesthetics of the project.
Step 6: Finalize and check the project
After completing the installation process of multi-purpose bamboo charcoal wall panels, we need to check the joint locations of the material panels. At the same time, check the edges and corners for excess glue. This factor will help the finished project ensure aesthetics as well as increase durability when used.

Note: The instructions are for the most basic construction cases of materials and are for reference only. However, there will be the most flexible and appropriate construction methods, but priority will still be given to surveying the specific project and propose the most reasonable construction plan.
