Instructions for installing ceiling panels under polycarbonate, glass, and corrugated iron roofs using 2-layer ASA-coated round wood-plastic composite panels.

Round wave-shaped slats made of double-layered ASA-coated wood-plastic composite. (3ST195X30) When constructing ceiling cladding under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs, there are two main cases including:

  1. Vertical ceiling panel, horizontal bar installation.
  2. Horizontal ceiling panel, vertical frame installation.

Round wave-shaped wood-plastic composite panels with 2 layers of ASA coating weigh 5kg/panel (195 x 30 x 3000mm). When installing ceiling panels under polycarbonate, glass, or corrugated iron roofs, installation on a frame structure is mandatory.

3 requirements for the skeleton to construct fluted ASA wood plastic panel:

  1. Distance between bars ≤30cm.
  2. The distance between the frame system and the glass and corrugated iron roof system is from 30 - 50cm.
  3. The frame is made from stainless steel or galvanized steel bars with dimensions of ≥25 x 25mm and a thickness of ≥1,2mm.

Step 1: Prepare materials and tools for installing the ceiling under polycarbonate, glass, or corrugated iron roofs using ASA wood-plastic round fluted panels.

Supplies

To install the following 8 materials under polycarbonate, glass, or corrugated iron roofing using 2-layer ASA-coated round fluted wood-plastic panels:

  1. Bar (stainless steel, galvanized steel) size ≥25 x 25mm and thickness ≥1,2mm
  2. Round wave-shaped slats made of double-layered ASA-coated wood-plastic composite.3ST195X30)
  3. ASA wood plastic V-shaped strip (V35X45)
  4. Insulation materials (silver foam 5mm or more, heat-insulating corrugated iron, plastic foam)
  5. Stainless steel screw with pee tail
  6. Ke
  7. Copper nail
  8. Kosmos multipurpose glue.

Tool

Here are 8 tools you need to prepare for installing 2-layer ASA wood-plastic round fluted panels for ceilings under polycarbonate, glass, or corrugated iron roofs:

  1. Angle cutter, drill, welding machine, laser machine
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Folding ladder
  4. Nail gun.

Step 2: Construct additional frame system to install under poly, glass, and corrugated iron roofs.

Construct a new skeleton layer (stainless steel or galvanized steel bars of size ≥25 x 25mm, thickness ≥1,2mm). At the connection point of 2 panels, 2 double ribs are needed with a distance of 5mm. Using a welding machine, weld the ribs together, the welds need to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

For vertical ceiling tiles distance between bars ≤30cm horizontally.

For horizontal ceiling panels, the distance between the ribs is ≤30cm vertically.

Step 3: Install insulation

After having a new skeleton system, the construction unit will install a layer of insulation material (silver foam 5mm thick or more, heat-insulating corrugated iron or plastic foam) on top of this skeleton and fix it with glue or stainless steel screws.

Step 4: Weld the frame and insulation material onto the glass, corrugated iron, and poly roof.

Weld the new frame and insulation material to the roof frame of corrugated iron, glass, and poly. The welds need to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint. The required distance between the wood-plastic composite ceiling frame and the glass, corrugated iron, or polycarbonate roof is 300-500mm, and the frame should have a slight outward slope of 2-3%..

The 2-layer ASA-coated round wave-shaped wood-plastic composite (PVC) has an expansion rate of 0,1%, so the gap between the frame and the wall (if any) should be 7-10mm. This is a safe distance to allow the frame and the ASA-coated PVC fluted panel to expand.

Step 5: Install the 2-layer ASA-coated round fluted wood-plastic panels onto the frame.

9 steps to install ASA round fluted panels 3ST195X30 on the skeleton.

5.1. Apply Kosmos multi-purpose glue Insert the support beam into the frame before installing the round fluted ASA wood-plastic panel.

5.2. Install the first ASA round fluted panel tongue and groove joint. When installed flush against the wall, with the tongue and groove facing outwards, fluted panels and frame should have a gap of 7-10mm between them and the wall.

(For vertical cladding, install fluted panels from left to right or right to left depending on the installer. For horizontal cladding, install fluted panels from inside to outside.)

5.3. Attach specialized brackets to the negative groove, fixed to the frame with stainless steel screws (distance between screw holes equal to distance between frames) ≤30cm).

5.4. Apply Kosmos multi-purpose adhesive to the frame to continue installing the second round ASA fluted panel.

5.5. Attach the male groove of the second fluted panel to the female groove of the first panel, which has already been screwed in.

5.6Attach the adhesive to the groove of the second fluted panel and fixed with stainless steel screws right at the bracket.

5.7. Repeat steps 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6 above for each round fluted panel until the entire ceiling is covered.

5.8. Measure, cut, and secure the final panel to fit the frame.

5.9. The installation is similar to that of round fluted ASA panels to cover the gaps between glass, corrugated metal, polycarbonate, and wood-plastic composite ceilings.

Kosmos recommends:

At the joint position, the panels need to be placed on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5mm and the distance between 2 ends of the ASA-coated 2-layer wood-plastic panel is 5mm.

Step 6: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.

Cover the exposed edges of the ASA round fluted panel with ASA wood-plastic V-shaped trim strips. (V35X45). Please note that at right angles, the V-shaped strip needs to be cut at a 45° angle.

There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.

Option 1: Use Kosmos multi-purpose glue and stainless steel screws to fix the V-shaped strip to cover the end edges of the ASA-coated 2-layer fluted wood-plastic panel. vertical/horizontal, screw hole spacing ≤350mm (≤35cm).

Note: Need to drill pilot holes before screwing into wood plastic V-shaped strips.

** Kosmos recommends

To ensure the wood plastic ceiling is durable and beautiful, rainwater does not accumulate inside and cause mold, you need to install a "water pipe" to ensure the durability of the ceiling.

A water line is a line that is usually raised with mortar on balconies and loggias. A water cut-off strip/water hook can be used instead. This detail prevents rainwater from flowing back into the ceiling.
