Instructions for installing gate cladding using OP156 double-layer polymer-coated wood-plastic composite panels.

OP156 Double-Layer Polymer Coated Wood-Plastic Composite Panel (OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panel) boasts a surface that resists dirt accumulation, making it easy to clean and maintain. Advanced polymer coating technology also helps protect the panel's color, minimizing fading over time.

There are two main scenarios for installing gate cladding using OP156 polymer wood-plastic composite panels:

  1. Vertical gate cover, horizontal bar installation
  2. Horizontal gate cover, vertical crossbar installation.

The OP156, weighing 5,7 kg per bar, needs to be reinforced on a sturdy frame with appropriate spacing between the bars. ≤25cm to ensure user safety.

In addition, the construction area must meet Width ≤6m and height ≤3mIf the area is larger, please switch to using ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic panel (OP113X16, OP140X12, 4S184X26, 5S169X14, 8S169X14). ASA cladding panels are lightweight materials specifically used for wall cladding, ceiling cladding, gate cladding, and partition cladding over large areas.

Step 1: Prepare construction materials and tools

To ensure the gate installation is quick, technically sound, and adheres closely to the manufacturer's recommendations, it's essential to prepare all necessary materials and tools before starting.

Supplies

Below are 11 types of materials you need to prepare when installing gate cladding using OP156 Polymer wood-plastic panels:

  1. Skeleton bar (stainless steel or galvanized steel bar) size ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1,2mm
  2. Iron bar
  3. 2-layer polymer coated wood plastic panel (OP156)
  4. Teak wood planks of the same size as the support beams or planks specifically designed for outdoor use.
  5. Plate, L plate, L-shaped iron bracket
  6. Fish tail stainless steel screw
  7. Iron anchor.
  8. Specialized stainless steel pin
  9. Swing hinge, gate handle
  10. Copper nail

Tool

Here are 7 essential tools for installing the OP156 wooden gate:

  1. Angle grinder, drill, welder
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Laser machine, nail gun.

Step 2: Install the gate border

Use 1cm thick and 6,7cm wide iron bars (for 25x25mm, 1,2mm thick support bars). Use a welding machine to connect the iron bars into a rectangle or square (depending on the size of the gate).

Width of the steel plate = size of the support beam + 2 x 21mm (thickness of the OP156 wood-plastic composite panel)

Step 3: Install the gate frame

The gate frame installation process includes 3 steps:

1. At the installation location of the last cladding panel, weld a support beam approximately 26mm from the gate edge to secure a teak wood (or other types of wood suitable for outdoor use) of the same size as the support beam (size ≥25x25mm).

2. Secure the teak wood beam (25mm thick) to the beam installed above using stainless steel screws, ensuring it matches the dimensions of the support beam. Securing the teak wood beam serves a specific purpose: When installing the final panel, instead of screwing directly into the panel surface (which would be unsightly due to exposed screws), the panel will be secured to the mahogany joist using brass nails.

3. Weld stainless steel or galvanized steel support bars to the center of the iron gate frame, spacing the support bars apart. ≤25cm.

  • Horizontal: Bone bars ≤25cm longitudinally
  • Vertical: The bone bars are ≤25cm horizontally.

Kosmos recommends:

  1. Material for making bone bars: Stainless steel or galvanized steel with size ≥ 25x25mm and thickness ≥ 1,2mm.
  2. All welds should be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

Step 4: Build the skeleton into the gate

Before erecting the skeleton into the gate, it is necessary to install the pivot hinges into the bottom and top of the gate post.

Bottom of gate pillar

Fix the gusset plate to the floor with iron anchors and weld the swivel hinge to the gusset plate.

Top of gate post

Fix the L-shaped bracket on the gate pillar with iron plugs, continue to weld the L-shaped bracket to the bracket. Finally weld the swivel hinge to the bracket.

Secure the swivel hinges to the bottom and top of the gate post.

Next, weld the gate frame to the swivel hinges as shown below. Leave a gap of 2-3 cm between the gate frame and the posts.

Note: All welds should be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

Step 5: Install the OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panels onto the gate frame (front of the gate).

Install the OP156 polymer-coated wood-plastic composite panels onto the gate using the following 7 steps:

1. Secure the specialized stainless steel pin to the support frame using stainless steel screws. You can use an OP156 template to determine the position of the first stainless steel pin.

Kosmos recommends:

  • OP156 when installing a horizontal gate Construction should proceed from bottom to top, with the male groove facing downwards and the female groove facing upwards.
  • OP156 when installing vertical gate The work can be done from left to right or from right to left, depending on the worker.

2. Install the first wood-plastic composite panel tongue and groove joint onto the stainless steel pins already secured to the frame.

3. Drill and screw stainless steel tail pee into the groove to fix the panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤250mm).

4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel.

5. Then drill pilot holes and screw in the stainless steel screws. tail pee into the negative groove to fix the second panel on the frame (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the frame bars). ≤250mm).

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the last panel is installed.

7. Measure and cut the final panel to fit the frame.

8. Using a nail gun, use brass nails to secure the cladding panels to the mahogany wood frame, with the nail holes spaced ≤10cm apart.

9. Install the handle on the gate, depending on the type of handle, choose the appropriate construction method.

** Kosmos recommends: Pre-drilling is required before screwing the screws into the tongue and groove of the OP156 polymer-coated double-layer wood-plastic composite panel.

Step 6: Install the OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panels onto the gate frame (back side of the gate).

On the back, simply repeat the same steps as in step 5.

Kosmos recommends the following dimensions for installing OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panels on gates:

When installing OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panels, the required gate dimensions are a width of ≤6m and a height of ≤3m. If your area is larger than the recommended dimensions, please switch to using ASA-coated double-layer wood-plastic composite panels (OP113X16, OP140X12, 4S184X26, 5S169X14, 8S169X14). ASA panels are lightweight and ideal for large-area wall and ceiling cladding.

OP156 double-layer wood-plastic composite panels can be used not only for gate cladding, but also for other purposes. Installation of OP156 cladding panels for balconies and verandas. or Horizontal and vertical wall cladding installation.
