Instructions for wall cladding for 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic panels with flat profile OP113X16 and OP140X12

ASA-coated 2-layer wood plastic panels with flat profile (OP113X16, OP140X12) when used for wall cladding will have 2 main cases including:

  • Vertical wall cladding, horizontal bar installation
  • Horizontal wall cladding, vertical rail installation.

ASA wood plastic panel weighs 1,8kg/bar - 1,89kg/bar, can be mounted directly on the wall under the condition that the wall indoor , and flat. In case of outdoor wall cladding, it is required to construct on a skeleton system and the distance between the skeleton bars must be ≤35cm.

Material table and size requirements of the crossbar:

Step 1: Prepare materials and tools for wall cladding with 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic panels

Supplies

You need to prepare the following 8 materials to construct wall cladding with flat-profile ASA wood-plastic panels:

  1. Skeleton bars (stainless steel, galvanized steel) size ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm
  2. ASA coated 2-layer wood plastic panel (OP113X16, OP140X12)
  3. ASA wood plastic V-shaped strip (V35X45)
  4. Iron anchor
  5. Stainless steel screw with pee tail
  6. Ke
  7. Copper nail
  8. Kosmos exterior glue.

Tool

7 tools needed to prepare for constructing 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic wall panels include:

  1. Angle grinder, drill, welder
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Laser machine, nail gun.

Step 2: Create a joint between the wall and the frame using iron anchors

The process of creating a joint between the wall and the frame using iron anchors includes 3 steps:

  1. Using a drill, drill into the wall of the house.
  2. Insert iron plugs into drilled holes
  3. Tighten the anchor bolts until the connections are secure and strong.
1.1. Vertical wall cladding

When using a drill, drilling into the wall requires a distance between the holes. ≤35cm horizontally and ≤50cm vertically.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm horizontally.

1.2. Horizontal wall cladding

When using a drill, drilling into the wall requires a distance between the holes. ≤35cm vertically and ≤50cm horizontally.

At the locations where the double crossbars are installed, holes need to be drilled at intervals. 5mm vertically.

4 common types of iron anchors: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, corresponding to 4 types of drill bits: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Step 3: Build the skeleton

1.1. Vertical wall cladding

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to Horizontal into the iron plugs already on the wall, the distance between the bars ≤350mm (≤35cm) horizontally. (The weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint)

1.2. Horizontal wall cladding

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to vertical into the iron plugs already on the wall, the distance between the bars ≤350mm (≤35cm) vertically. (The weld needs to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint)

**Attention:

  1. Frame material: Stainless steel bar or galvanized steel bar with size ≥ 25x25mm, thickness ≥ 1.2mm.
  2. The frame needs to leave a gap of about 7 - 10mm from the wall to install the ASA wood plastic V-shaped strip. This is also a safe distance for the frame and the 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic panel to expand.
  3. At the position where the 2 panels are joined, a double rib must be installed. The distance between the 2 double ribs is 5mm.

Step 4: Install 2-layer ASA-coated wood plastic panels onto the frame

ASA flat profile wood panels at Kosmos Vietnam have 2 codes: OP140X12 (thick and long hem) , and OP113X16 (short hem) and these two codes require different construction methods when cladding onto the frame.

Install OP140X12 panel onto the frame

5 steps to install panels OP140X12 vertical wall panel on the skeleton:

  1. Apply Kosmos exterior glue to the crossbar before installing the panel.
  2. Install the first wood-plastic panel's positive groove against the wall vertically, with the negative groove facing outward (install the panel from left to right or from right to left depending on the installer).
  3. Drilling and screwing stainless steel fish tail into the groove to fix the panel on the rib (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the ribs). ≤35cm)
  4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel and fix the second panel onto the crossbar at the negative groove.
  5. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the end of the wall.
5. Repeat the same steps until the end of the wall.
5. Repeat the same steps until the end of the wall.

  1. It is necessary to drill a pilot hole before screwing into the groove on the ASA wood plastic panel.
  2. At the position where the panels need to be joined, the joint must be placed on the rib. If the rib is not large enough to fix both ends at the same time, it is necessary to install 2 ribs, each rib is 2mm apart, and the 5 panels connected together are also 2mm apart.
