Instructions for installing 2-layer polymer-coated wood-plastic flooring S145T22 without seams
2-layer polymer-coated, tight-seam wood-plastic flooring (2-layer, tight-seam wood-plastic flooring) S145T22 is a type of floor specialized for outdoor projects such as balcony floors, garden floors, hut floors, etc. The product is made of 35% HDPE plastic + 55% wood powder + 10% additives, with a lifespan of 15 - 20 years with an expansion rate of 0,1%.
6 notes when installing 2-layer seamless wood plastic flooring S140T22:
- The foundation has a slope of 2 - 3% to best support the drainage process under the floor.
- Required to be constructed on concrete with thickness ≥50mm
- Distance between bars from 200 - 350mm
- Distance between floor bar and wall ≥15mm
- The frame material is stainless steel bar with size ≥30x30mm, thickness ≥1,4mm
- At the floor connection position, it is necessary to install on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5 - 20mm and the distance between 2 floor bars right there is 3 - 10mm.

Step 1: Prepare tools and materials for construction of 2-layer wood plastic floor S145T22
Supplies
Below are 7 types of materials that customers need to prepare when constructing 2-layer wood plastic flooring S145T22
- 2-layer round hole wood plastic flooring without seam S145T22
- Stainless steel bar (size ≥30x30mm, thickness ≥1,4mm)
- 2-layer wood-plastic V-shaped strip (V50X50)
- Specialized stainless steel pin
- Stainless steel screws
- Copper nail
- Kosmos Exterior Glue

Tool:
5 necessary tools to construct 2-layer polymer-coated wood-plastic floor include:
- Cutter, drill, nail gun
- Drill and screw bit set.

Step 2: Surface treatment for 2-layer, seamless wood-plastic flooring S145T22
The construction surface must meet the following 3 technical requirements:
- Stiffness: The surface must be solid and have good load-bearing capacity.
- Flatness: Surface must be flat, not rough, not peeling, pitting, cracking or rippling.
- Tilt: The surface should be designed with a slight slope of 2% to 3% towards drainage points to ensure that water can flow and drain quickly, without stagnating on the surface.
Compliance with these technical requirements will help protect the structure from water damage, increase the life of the structure and ensure the safe and long-term use of the structure.

Step 3: Install the frame on the construction surface
The skeleton is joined together by welding and the welds need to be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.
Kosmos recommends
- Distance between 2 bars from 200 - 350mm
- Frame leg height ≥50mm
- Distance between bar and wall ≥15mm
- Wood plastic floor panels are perpendicular to the frame (vertical floor panels use horizontal frames, horizontal floor panels use vertical frames)
- At the floor connection position, it is necessary to install on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5 - 20mm.
Step 4: Install the first wood plastic floor bar
The first S145T22 wood plastic floor bar is installed on the frame bar by the following 3 steps:
1. Fix the stainless steel pin to the frame, install the first 2-layer wood plastic floor bar into the stainless steel pin at the locking groove position.
2. Insert the specialized stainless steel pins into the locking grooves of the double-layered plastic Laminate flooring planks.

3. Drill a pilot hole and fix the stainless steel pin on the crossbar with stainless steel screws.

Kosmos recommends frame spacing and floor spacing at the junction between 2 floor bars
When needing to connect the wood plastic floor, each floor bar will be on 2 different ribs. The distance between 2 ribs is 5 - 20mm.
When installing the floor bar at the double rib, it must not protrude more than 10mm from the rib, otherwise warping will occur, and in the long run it can cause serious consequences or floor breakage, the distance between the 2 floor bars at the joint point is 3 - 10mm.

Step 5: Install the remaining plastic wood floor bars until completed
4 remaining steps to install wood plastic floor bars until the floor is completed
1. Insert the groove of the next floor bar into the stainless steel pin of the first floor bar.

2. Install the specialized stainless steel pin into the remaining locking groove of the 2-layer wood plastic floor bar.

3. Fix the stainless steel pin on the frame with stainless steel screws

4. Repeat the above 3 steps until the project is completed.

Kosmos recommends
- The distance between the floor bars is connected by specialized 2mm stainless steel pins and the special thing is that when the S2T145 22-layer floor project is completed, looking down from above, you will not see the stainless steel screws (no seams).
- Distance between 2 ends of floor bar when placed on double rib bar 3 - 10mm

Below is the expansion table of 2-layer wood plastic flooring according to season
EXPANSION OF 2-LAYER WOOD PLASTIC FLOORING | ||
| Season/Session | Spring - Winter | Summer - Fall |
| Morning/evening (sunny) | 6 - 7mm | 3 - 4mm |
| Afternoon (sunny) | 5 - 6mm | 2 - 3mm |
Note: Outdoor plastic Laminate flooring should be installed in a staggered 50 - 50 pattern (forming a ladder). That is, 2 floor bars next to each other should be installed with the wrong length in the ratio ½. This installation method helps to ensure the highest level of floor structure.

Step 6: Cover the edges of the finished 2-layer laminate flooring and it's done.
Before installing the V-shaped strip, we need to cut the wood-plastic floor bars to cover the installed frames. This helps to cover the frame, creating an even and beautiful floor surface.
1. Measure the height of the structure from the floor to the base of the frame
2. Cut the wood plastic floor bar according to the measured height
3. Use screws to fix the floor bar used to cover the skeleton and the floor bar above the structure or skeleton (if fixing the floor bar on the skeleton, you must insert a wooden bar first as shown in the sample), but do not drill into both.

Note: At the right angle position, the floor board needs to be cut at a 45° angle.

4. Cover the floor edges with V50X50 wood plastic V-shaped strips to complete the project. Please note that at right angles, the V-shaped strips need to be cut at a 45° angle.

Customers use 1 of the following 2 ways:
Option 1: Fix the V-shaped strip to the floor with glue. Then, use a drill, pilot drill and screw stainless steel screws to fix it firmly (distance between screw holes ≤35cm).
Option 2: Fix the V-shaped strip to the floor with glue. Then, use a nail gun to nail the copper strip again for security (distance between nail holes ≤10cm).

In addition to constructing 2-layer floor S145T22, the above instructions can still be applied to Construction of 2-layer open-groove floor S140V23.
Note: Instructions are for reference only. To have the most suitable construction plan, it is necessary to survey the specific project and come up with an optimal construction solution.
