Instructions for installing 1-layer inclined wood-plastic horizontal slats

Step 1: Prepare construction materials and tools
Supplies
Below are 7 types of materials you need to prepare:
- Stainless steel or galvanized steel bar
- Wood plastic slats (LAM35X35, LAM50X50, LAM60X40, LAM80X40, L105X50, LAM160X80)
- Bar end cap
- Iron bracket
- Stainless steel screw with pee tail
- Code
- Iron anchor.

Tool
7 necessary tools for the construction process of sunshade horizontal slats include:
- Welding machine, angle cutting machine, drilling machine, laser machine, grinding machine
- Tape measure, protractor.

Step 2: Measure, cut and thread the stainless steel or galvanized steel bar into the wood plastic slats
| Wood plastic code | Corresponding size of galvanized square iron bar with slat core threaded through |
| LAM35X35 | 20 x 20mm |
| LAM50X50 | 30x30mm or 35 x 35mm |
| LAM60X40 | 25 x 25mm or 20 x 40mm |
| LAM80X40 | 25 x 50mm |
| L105X50 | 30 x 30mm |
| LAM160X80 | 50 x 100mm |
B3: Handle the bar end cap
Method 1: Use a small piece of plastic wood to cover the end of the slat.
- Trim the end of the bar
- Use small pieces of plastic wood as slat end covers
- Use wood powder to fill the gap and use glue to fix it.
- Sanding is complete and continue until the required number of slats are used.

Method 2: Use plastic blade cap
Cover the end of the slat with a plastic slat end cap.

B4: Build the skeleton
Column section
- Welding stainless steel or galvanized steel bars with brackets
- Fix the bracket to the concrete floor with 12mm iron anchors for security.
Roof
Weld 4 tie bars to the column.

Step 5: Install 1 layer wood plastic slats on the roof
- Measure and mark the location of the iron bracket
- Fix one end of the iron bracket to the crossbar
- Fix the stainless steel or galvanized steel bar at the remaining iron bracket end (Note: This end does not fix the slat to the iron bracket and the distance from the slat to the tie bar is 5mm)
- The remaining end of the slat is fixed to the tie beam by an L-shaped iron bracket.
Do not use glue or cement to fix the slats.

Kosmos recommends the size of the horizontal slat construction project to be installed at an angle, the width of the project should not exceed 3m and the slats should not be connected together.
In some cases, the width of the construction is > 3m or the Agent reuses the slats for construction, leading to the slats having to be reconnected together. The joints are exposed to the sun and rain for a long time, the joints are open, rainwater seeps in, and cannot escape, causing the slats to crack easily. It is necessary to limit the connection of panels.
For such cases of slat connection construction, reduce product life compared to manufacturer's specifications.
Kosmos recommends
Because wood plastic slats have an expansion rate of 5 - 10%, the required clearance from the slat to the tie beam is 5mm (for slat length ≤ 1,5m)) 8mm (slat length from 1,5m to 3m).
The distance between the sunshade slats is 30 - 40cm.

Below is the weather expansion table of the louvers:
| Season | Distance between the slat and the tie bar | Elongation of the slat Morning/evening (sunny) | Elongation of the slat Afternoon (sunny) |
| Spring/Winter | 5 - 8mm | 7 - 8mm | 5 - 6mm |
| Summer/Fall | 3 - 5mm | 4 - 5mm | 3 - 4mm |
Depending on the weather of the installation area, customers should refer to the expansion table to leave appropriate gaps.
Every 3-6 months, the project needs to be checked and periodically maintained to ensure the best lifespan of the project. If any abnormalities are detected in screws or slats, the construction unit must be notified immediately.

Note: Instructions are for reference only. To have the most suitable construction plan, it is necessary to survey the specific project and come up with an optimal construction solution.
In addition to being used to make tilted sunshade slats, outdoor wood plastic slats are also used to make sunshade slats. surface mounted, built-in or construction of facade panels, decoration of building facades.
