Step 1: Prepare construction materials and tools

Supplies

Below are 6 types of materials you need to prepare:

  1. Stainless steel or galvanized steel bar
  2. Wood plastic slats (LAM35X35, LAM50X50, LAM60X40, LAM80X40, L105X50, LAM160X80)
  3. Iron plate L
  4. Stainless steel screw with pee tail
  5. Code
  6. Iron anchor.

Tool

6 necessary tools for the construction process of sunshade horizontal slats include:

  1. Welding machine, angle cutting machine, drilling machine, laser machine
  2. Tape measure, protractor.

Step 2: Measure, cut and thread the stainless steel or galvanized steel bar into the wood plastic slats

LAM80X4025 x 50mm
L105X5030 x 30mm
LAM160X8050 x 100mm

B3: Build the skeleton

Column section

  1. Welding stainless steel or galvanized steel bars with brackets
  2. Fix the bracket to the concrete floor with 12mm iron anchors for security.

The 3 popular types of codes today include code 160, code 120, code 100.

Roof

  1. Weld 4 tie bars to the column
  2. Weld 2 crossbeams to form 4 cells with each cell length or width ≤ 1,5m.

Step 4: Install 1 layer wood plastic slats on the roof

  1. Fix the slat with its inner stainless steel or galvanized steel core with L-shaped iron bracket
  2. Fix the slats to the tie beam and cross beam across the remaining edge of the L-bracket.
Length of slats ≤ 1,5m
Length of slats ≤ 1,5m

Kosmos recommends

When placing the slats on the tie beams and cross beams, leave a gap of 5mm with the edge of the beam (this is the gap for the slats to expand).

To build a roof panel longer than 1,5m, it is necessary to use horizontal beams as support points for the slats. Absolutely do not connect the slats directly together.

Wood plastic slats expand from 5 - 10%, below is the expansion table of wood plastic slats according to the weather:

SeasonDistance between the slat and the tie bar

Elongation of the slat

Morning/evening (sunny)

Elongation of the slat

Afternoon (sunny)

Spring/Winter5 - 8mm7 - 8mm5 - 6mm
Summer/Fall3 - 5mm4 - 5mm3 - 4mm

Depending on the weather of the installation area, customers should refer to the expansion table to leave appropriate gaps.

Every 3-6 months, the project needs to be checked and periodically maintained to ensure the best lifespan of the project. If any abnormalities are detected in screws or slats, the construction unit must be notified immediately.

Note: Instructions are for reference only. To have the most suitable construction plan, it is necessary to survey the specific project and come up with an optimal construction solution.
