Instructions for installing V-shaped insulated aluminum roofs (roofs with ridges)
Properly constructing a V-shaped (sloped) insulated aluminum roof not only ensures the roof's stability and minimizes vibration in strong winds, but also optimizes thermal insulation, soundproofing, and water drainage for the building.
This guide will help customers understand the basic construction process, from material preparation and measurement to frame installation, roof panel fixing, joint treatment, and finishing.

Step 1: Prepare tools and materials
To ensure the construction process proceeds quickly, the following tools and materials need to be prepared:
Tool
- Glue gun
- Aluminum cutting machine
- Handheld drill
- Infrared leveling ruler
- Tape measure
- Ladder
- Seat belt
- Rubber hammer
- Work gloves
- Safety helmet

Supplies
- Stainless steel or galvanized steel bar
- Aluminum roofing and end caps
- The splint begins.
- End brace
- Connecting bar
- Water troughs and trough covers
- Water trough termites
- Drainage pipe
- Roof
- Kosmos Exterior Glue
- Stainless steel duck tail

Step 2: Install the gutter
Construction of gutters includes 5 steps It's as simple as this:
1. Apply Kosmos exterior sealant to the frame at the location where the gutter will be installed.

2. Place the water trough onto the frame in the correct position where glue has been applied.

3. Drill pilot holes and install stainless steel screws to secure the gutter. The distance between each screw should be ≤350mm.

4. At the bottom of the gutter (where the water drains), cut a circular hole that fits the drain pipe, then apply glue and attach the drain pipe to the hole.

5. Apply glue and attach the end caps to both ends of the gutter to complete the installation.

Note: If the gutter isn't long enough, use a gutter connector to join two gutters together. Apply glue to the connector, then attach the two gutters for a secure connection.

Step 3: Installation of the trim strip begins.
The trim strip begins with a tongue-and-groove locking tab to connect with the roofing panel more securely.

Installing the trim strip involves two steps:
1. Apply Kosmos multi-purpose/exterior adhesive to the underside of the starting bar and attach the bar to the frame.

2. Secure the starting bar to the frame using stainless steel screws; there will be 3 screws per meter.

Kosmos recommends: The frame for insulated aluminum roofing is made of stainless steel or galvanized steel.
Step 4: Install the aluminum roofing panels.
Aluminum roofing panels are installed in the following 10 steps:
1. Apply Kosmos exterior sealant to the inside of the tongue and groove joint of the aluminum roofing.

2. Apply Kosmos exterior sealant to the frame at the location where the first aluminum roofing panel will be installed.

3. Attach the tongue and groove of the first aluminum roofing sheet to the starting bracket.

4. Drill pilot holes and use stainless steel screws to secure the tongue and groove joint of the aluminum roofing to the frame.

5. Apply Kosmos low-pressure exterior sealant to the inside of the tongue and groove joint of the second aluminum roof panel.

6. Apply Kosmos exterior adhesive to the frame at the location where the second aluminum roof panel will be installed.

7. Insert the male groove of the second aluminum roofing panel into the female groove of the first roofing panel.

8. Drill pilot holes and use stainless steel screws to secure the second roofing panel to the frame at the tongue and groove joint.

9. Repeat steps 5, 6, 7, and 8 until the entire frame of one side of the roof is completed.

Kosmos recommends:
When a long roof needs to be joined, the installer will use a connecting bar to join two roofing panels. At the joining point, apply adhesive to the connecting bar on both sides. Then, push the connecting bar into the edge of the roofing panel already fixed to the frame, and then install the next roofing panel onto the remaining part of the connecting bar, aligning it tightly to complete the joint.

10. Install the same method for the other side of the roof.

Step 5: Install the end trim.
The end trim is installed in the following two steps:
- Apply Kosmos exterior adhesive to the inside of the trim strip.
- Attach the end trim to the groove of the last aluminum roofing panel.

Step 6: Install the end caps on the aluminum roofing.
Install end caps on aluminum roofing panels.

Step 7: Construct the roof apex.
The roof apex construction process consists of the following four steps:
1. Apply Kosmos exterior sealant to the groove between the two sides of the roof.

2. Place the roof apron onto the roof ridge, adjusting the opening as needed.

3. Use stainless steel screws to secure the roof ridge groove to the aluminum roofing sheet.

4. Use trim strips to cover the grooves in the roof.

Note: Instructions are for reference only. To have the most suitable construction plan, it is necessary to survey the specific project and come up with an optimal construction solution.
