6 steps to install durable and beautiful click lock Vinyl flooring
To install click lock vinyl flooring that mimics wood or stone effectively and aesthetically for your project, follow these steps:
Step 1: Renovate the subfloor for installing faux wood or stone Vinyl flooring
Before installing vinyl flooring or stone imitation flooring, it is advisable to survey the site to assess the condition of the project, estimate materials needed, and determine appropriate construction methods.
For click-lock vinyl flooring with a thickness around 4mm, the subfloor needs to be very flat. Ideally, within a 1m the level difference of the subfloor should not exceed 2 mm.
Water does not significantly affect the durability of vinyl flooring. However, installing flooring on a damp subfloor can lead to mold and mildew growth. Ensure that the construction area is thoroughly dry and carefully inspect all water pipes within the house.
To avoid scratching the floor surface when opening or closing doors, ensure that the clearance between the bottom edge of the door and the floor is approximately 10 - 15mm.

Step 2: Prepare tools to install locking vinyl flooring
Before installing click-lock vinyl flooring that mimics wood or stone, you need to prepare and gather materials such as:
- Skirting board.
- Vinyl floor brace.
- Interlocking vinyl flooring .
- Cutter, knife.
- Iron hammer, stainless steel nail.
- Rubber hammer.
- Pads.
- Measure.
- Styrofoam floor mats.
Especially, Kosmos Vietnam has recently launched click-lock vinyl flooring with integrated rubber backing eliminating the need for additional foam underlayment.
Step 3: Fix the brace base to the floor with a hammer and nails
We install the brackets at locations such as the base of the wall (when wool is not used), where furniture is entangled, and the location of doors.
Note:
- Where to end the flooring will be used F brace.
- The place where the boards need to be joined will be used brace.
Normally, T braces will be used at doors and to divide areas for construction with length and width. > 7m.

Step 4: Spread foam lining for the locking vinyl flooring
Except for vinyl flooring with integrated rubber backing, installing click-lock vinyl flooring that mimics wood or stone requires foam underlayment. The foam should be evenly spread out, with the seams taped together using adhesive tape. The foam must not be overlapped to ensure the floor remains level.
Note: If the vinyl floor has a thick edge of about 1.5 mm then only use foam floorboards about . thick 1 - 2mm.

Step 5: Assemble vinyl flooring with imitation wood and imitation stone
SPC click-lock vinyl flooring is assembled using a locking system, so it does not require adhesive like other types of vinyl flooring (glue-down or self-adhesive vinyl). To connect the planks, fit the tongue of one plank into the groove of the next plank.
Note:
- The floor has the most beautiful effect when installed in the direction of the light.
- Leave a gap between the floor and wall of approx 12 - 15mm.
- After assembling the hem edge, we have to lightly tap the edge of the board with a rubber hammer or an iron hammer and a spacer.

The installation method of interlocking vinyl flooring is highly popular nowadays. During installation, the floor is divided into rows labeled as 3 – 1 – 2, specifically:
- The first plank in row 1 is kept centered along its entire length.
- The first plank in row 2 will have a length equal to 1/XNUMX of the length of the first plank in row XNUMX.
- The first plank in row 3 will have a length equal to 1/XNUMX of the length of the first plank in row XNUMX.
- The remaining planks in each row will retain their original dimensions.
