Instructions for installing ASA flat plastic cladding panels for gates.

Install the ASA plastic gate cladding panels (code G-OP112X16) by securing the tongue and groove joints with stainless steel brackets and screws. The panels are connected to each other via tongue and groove joints on the edges.

The G-OP112X16 gate cladding project must be constructed on a frame that meets the following four conditions:

  • Durable material: Galvanized steel bars or stainless steel bars.
  • Sturdy dimensions: Bar thickness ≥1,2mm, side length ≥25mm.
  • Safe distance: Distance between bone bars ≤30cm.
  • Construction in the correct direction: The support beams must be installed perpendicular to the direction of the panel installation. Specifically, for vertical panel installation, install horizontal support beams; for horizontal panel installation, install vertical support beams.

Kosmos recommends:

All welds should be smoothed and painted with anti-rust paint.

Step 1: Prepare tools and materials for installing ASA G-OP112X16 plastic cladding panels. gate

13 essential materials needed when installing ASA G-OP112X16 plastic cladding panels. gate the:

  1. Reinforcing bar (material: stainless steel, galvanized steel; dimensions: side ≥25mm, thickness ≥1,2mm)
  2. The teak wood planks are the same size as the support beams.
  3. ASA plastic cladding panel (G-OP112X16)
  4. Iron anchor
  5. Stainless steel flathead screws (using the flathead to securely fasten the screw to a rigid support beam)
  6. Copper nail
  7. Kosmos Exterior Glue
  8. L-shaped bracket, L-shaped metal plate, L-shaped steel plate
  9. Swing hinge, gate handle
  10. Stainless steel kettle

Step 2: Install the gate border trim with ASA G-OP112X16 plastic panels.

Use 1cm thick iron bars with a width of 4,9cm – 5,7cm (for 25 x 25mm, 1,2mm thick support bars). Use a welding machine to connect the iron bars into a rectangle or square shape (depending on the size of the gate).

Width of the steel plate = size of the support bar + 2 x A (A is the thickness of the ASA plastic cladding panel)

G-OP112X16, with a frame width of 25mm and a thickness of 16mm, requires a steel flat bar width of 57mm.

Step 3: Install the gate frame with ASA G-OP112X16 plastic panels.

The gate frame installation process includes 3 stages:

  1. Step 1. Right at the installation point of the last cladding panel, weld a support bar approximately 26mm from the gate edge to secure a teak wood (or other types of wood specifically designed for outdoor use) with the same dimensions as the support bar (size ≥25 x 25mm).
  2. Step 2. Fix the wooden bar with the same size as the frame (25mm thick) to the frame just installed above by using stainless steel screws. Fixing this wooden bar has a special purpose: When constructing the final panel, instead of having to screw directly onto the panel surface (this will cause aesthetic loss due to exposed screws), we will fix the panel to the wooden frame with copper nails.
  3. Step 3. Weld stainless steel or galvanized steel support bars to the center of the iron bar, spacing the support bars apart. ≤30cm.

Step 4: Erect the frame onto the gate and attach the ASA G-OP112X16 plastic sheet.

Before erecting the skeleton into the gate, it is necessary to install the pivot hinges into the bottom and top of the gate post.

👉The lower part of the gate post: Fix the gusset plate to the floor with iron anchors and weld the swivel hinge to the gusset plate.

👉The top part of the gate post:

  • Secure the L-shaped bracket to the gate post using metal anchors.
  • Continue welding the L-shaped bracket to the base plate.
  • Finally weld the swivel hinge to the gusset plate.
Secure the two swivel hinges at the bottom of the gate post and the top of the gate post with the ASA G-OP112X16 plastic panel.

After completing the 2 upper and lower hinges. Continue welding the frame into the position of the 2 hinges as shown below. The gate frame needs to leave a distance of 2-3cm from the gate post.

Step 5: Install the ASA plastic cladding panels onto the gate frame (front of the gate).

Installing ASA plastic cladding panels onto the gate frame (front gate) involves 8 small steps:

  1. Apply adhesive to the frame before installing the fluted panel.
  2. Place the ASA plastic sheet (G-OP112X16) in the position where glue has been applied to the frame.
  3. Drill pilot holes into the groove of the fluted panel before screwing in the stainless steel fasteners (the distance between pilot holes and screws should be equal to the distance between the support bars ≤30cm).
  4. Screw the fluted panel onto the support beam through the pilot holes.
  5. Install the male tongue and groove joint to conceal the female tongue and groove joint of the fluted panel.
  6. Perform the process of securing the female and male tongue and groove joints continuously until the entire front of the gate is assembled.
  7. Measure and cut the final panel to fit the frame. Use a nail gun to secure the panel to the mahogany frame with brass nails, ensuring the nail holes are spaced ≤ 1/2 of their original size.Wide base.
  8. Install the gate handle; the appropriate installation method will depend on the type of handle.
