Instructions for constructing a double room with a door using a 2-sided plastic partition (T-shaped corner joining technique)

2-sided plastic partitions are not only used as partitions between rooms. but can also be built into 2 independent rooms with doors.

Building a double room with 2-sided plastic partitions requires knowing the technique of installing T-shaped corner wall legs. It is necessary to determine the vertical and horizontal wall legs to cut and join the corners appropriately.

Video instructions for installing Galawood T-shaped corner partition:

Step 1: Measure and cut the base of the partition

Determine the length to cut based on the room size. Cut the skirting at a 45° angle to ensure a tight fit with no gaps.

To install a T-shaped corner partition, the vertical and horizontal wall feet must be determined.

  • Vertical wall foot: Cut 2 45° angles with the center of the wall as the corner to form a 1° angle
The foot of the wall is located vertically at the center of the foot of the wall.

  • Horizontal wall foot: At the center of the wall, cut the wall leg in half. Then, at the center of the 2 wall legs that have been cut in half, cut at a 1 degree angle, making sure the 45 cut ends of the 2 wall legs are symmetrical.

Step 2: Drill a primer into the base of the partition wall

Pre-drill the base of the bulkhead first so that the bolting/screwing process does not damage the base of the bulkhead.

Step 3: Mark the holes on the wall/ceiling/floor

Measure the wall base to the position to be installed, use a pen to mark the drilling position on the wall/ceiling/floor through the previously drilled pilot hole.

Step 4: Drill holes in the wall/ceiling/floor to catch the hatchlings

  1. Fix the anchor (iron anchor, expansion anchor) to the wall/ceiling/floor.
  2. Bolt/screw the anchor into place to create a solid anchor point.

Step 5: Fix the partition legs to the wall/ceiling/floor

  1. Apply glue to the position where the wall foot is to be installed.
  2. Place the wall foot in the glued area, adjusting it to fit the drilled hole.
  3. Tighten the bolt/screw into the expansion joint through a 12cm wide straight bracket.

Step 6: Join the wall legs at the right angle between the wall and the floor

Apply glue to the cut surface before joining the two ends of the wall legs together. Secure the joint with a nail gun.

Step 8: Join the wall legs at the T-shaped corner to make the next room wall.

At the intersection of the three walls, join the horizontal and vertical wall legs together so that they fit tightly, forming a T shape.
