Instructions for installing 1-layer flat-shaped wood-plastic ceiling panel OP148

OP1 flat profile 148-layer wood plastic panel when constructing ceiling cladding has 2 main cases including:

  1. Horizontal ceiling panel, vertical bar installation
  2. Vertical ceiling panel, horizontal bar installation.

OP1 flat profile 148-layer wood plastic panel weighs from 3,5kg/bar - 5,2kg/bar so it needs to be reinforced on a sturdy frame system to ensure safety for users.

In addition, the construction area of the ceiling for the OP1 148-layer wood plastic panel must be ensured. width ≤6m and height ≤3m. If the construction area is larger, please use 2-layer ASA-coated flat wood-plastic panels (OP113X16, OP140X12) for the project - This is a lightweight material, a large ceiling cladding solution.

Step 1: Prepare construction materials and tools

Supplies

You need to prepare the following 7 materials to construct a ceiling panel with 148 layer of OP1 plastic wood:

  1. Skeleton bars (stainless steel, galvanized steel) size ≥25x25mm and thickness ≥1.2mm
  2. Flat profile 1-layer wood plastic panel (OP148, 3DOP148, GOP148, G3DOP148)
  3. Wood plastic V-shaped molding (V60X60, V40X60, GV40X60)
  4. Iron anchor
  5. Stainless steel screw with pee tail
  6. Copper nail
  7. Kosmos exterior glue.

Tool

8 tools needed to prepare for constructing OP1 flat-shaped 148-layer wood-plastic ceiling panels include:

  1. Angle cutter, drill, welding machine, laser machine
  2. Tape measure, angle ruler
  3. Folding ladder
  4. Nail gun.

Step 2: Create a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors

The process of creating a joint between the ceiling and the frame using iron anchors includes 3 steps:

  1. Using a drill, drill into the ceiling.
  2. Insert iron plugs into drilled holes
  3. Tighten the anchor bolts until the connections are secure and strong.
1.1. Horizontal ceiling panels

When using a drill, drilling into the ceiling requires Distance between drill holes ≤50cm horizontally and ≤25cm vertically.

1.2. Vertical ceiling panels

When using a drill, drilling into the ceiling requires Distance between drill holes ≤50cm vertically and ≤25cm horizontally.

4 common types of iron anchors: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm, corresponding to 4 types of drill bits: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Step 3: Build the skeleton

1.1. Horizontal ceiling panels

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to vertical into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤250mm (25cm) vertically.

1.2. Vertical ceiling panels

Using a welding machine, weld the bone bar firmly according to Horizontal into the iron plugs already on the ceiling, the distance between the bars ≤250mm (25cm) horizontally.

**Attention:

  1. Frame material: Stainless steel bar or galvanized steel bar with size ≥25x25mm, thickness ≥1.2mm.
  2. The frame needs to leave a gap of 7 - 10mm from the wall to install the wood-plastic V-shaped strip. This is also a safe distance for the frame and OP148 panel to expand.
  3. The skeleton has a slight outward slope from 2 - 3%.
  4. Spacing of the bars ≤25cm.

Kosmos recommends: The weight of the 1-layer wood plastic panel OP148 is 3,5kg/bar - 5,2kg/bar ±5% (about 11,26 - 13,59kg/m²), so it is recommended to install it on a brick or concrete ceiling through a frame and not to install the panel directly on the ceiling.

Step 4: Install the wood plastic panel on the frame

5 steps to install wood plastic panel OP148 horizontal ceiling on the skeleton:

  1. Kosmos exterior glue into the crossbar before installing the panel.
  2. installation hem The first wood plastic panel is next to the wall, negative facing outwards (Kosmos recommends installing the panels from the inside out)
  3. Drilling and stainless steel screws fish tail into the groove to fix the panel on the rib (the distance between the screw holes is equal to the distance between the ribs).  ≤25cm)
  4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel and fix the second panel onto the crossbar at the negative groove.
  5. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the ceiling is full.
5. Repeat the same process of installing the panels until the end of the ceiling.
5. Repeat the same process of installing the panels until the end of the ceiling.

Kosmos recommends

At the joint position, the panels need to be placed on double ribs, the distance between 2 double ribs is 5mm and the distance between 2 joints of 1-layer OP148 wood-plastic panel is 5mm.

When the 2 ends of the OP148 panel are connected together, they need to be placed on a double rib and the distance between the 2 ends of the 2 panels is 5mm.

5 steps to install wood plastic panel OP148 Vertical ceiling panels on the skeleton:

  1. Kosmos exterior glue into the crossbar before installing the panel.
  2. installation hem The first wood plastic panel is close to the wall, the groove facing outward (install the panel from left to right or from right to left depending on the construction team)
  3. Drilling and screwing stainless steel fish tail into the groove to fix the panel on the rib
  4. Install the male groove of the second panel into the screwed negative groove of the first panel and Fix the second panel to the rib at the negative groove
  5. Repeat the same steps above for each panel until the ceiling is full.

** Kosmos recommends

  1. It is necessary to drill a pilot hole before screwing into the recess of the wood plastic panel.
  2. At the position where the panels need to be joined, the joint must be placed on the rib. If the rib is not large enough to fix both ends at the same time, it is necessary to install 2 ribs, each rib is 2mm apart, and the 5 panels connected together are also 2mm apart.

Note: In case the installation area receives direct and frequent sunlight, Kosmos recommends using smooth grain panels or 3D wood grain instead of 2D printed grain.

Step 5: Cover the edges of the panel with wood-plastic V-shaped strips and you're done.

Cover the exposed edges of the end panels with wood plastic V-shaped strips (V60X60, V40X60, GV40X60). Please note that at right angles, the V-shaped strips need to be cut at a 45 degree angle.

There are 2 ways to fix the wood plastic V-shaped strip onto the panel and the frame.

Option 1: Use glue and stainless steel screws fish tail, screw holes ≤350mm (≤35cm).

1.1. Horizontal ceiling panels

1.2. Vertical ceiling panels

Option 2: Use glue and nail gun with copper nails, nail holes ≤100mm (≤10cm).

2.1. Horizontal ceiling panels

2.2. Vertical ceiling panels

Kosmos recommends:

When installing vertical ceilings for 1-layer wood plastic panels OP148, the project requires a length (depth) ≤ 3m. If the length (depth) > 3m, customers should use 2-layer wood plastic panels ASA (OP113, OP140).

When installing horizontal ceilings for 1-layer wood plastic panels OP148, the project requires a width of ≤ 3m. If the width is > 3m, customers should use 2-layer wood plastic panels ASA (OP113, OP140).
